Scientists made artificial heart using rocket technology: report
China’s Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) and jointly developed an artificial heart by TEDA International Cardiovascular Hospital in Tianjin, Northern China. Scientists have used rocket technology to develop this artificial heart. This artificial heart, called ‘Aerospace Heart’, is expected to be sent for clinical trials during the 13th Five Year Plan (2016-20). So far it has been used only on animals.
Lee Hong, former Director of CAL said that after testing the animals the artificial heart has been sent for investigation. The artificial heart uses magnetic and liquid levitation from the rocket system. With this technique reducing the damage to the blood, blood pump can be able to work long hours.
